Norfolk Virginia Real Estate and City Links
I was discussing with my husband this week on the current prices and affordable housing for even those on a minimum wage income (regardless of whether they are childfree or have kids) in the areas of Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach Virginia. I made a bet with my husband that the cost of living is affordable for minimum wage workers now (in the Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach area) but that the cost of living there is more likely to increase and even surpass the Washington D.C. area (yes even my dream area of Northern Virginia) by around the year 2035 at the earliest and 2050 at the latest. My husband politely disagrees with me and even believes that the areas of Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach Virginia are still going to be lower than the Washington D.C. area come 2050 and even still affordable for minimum wage workers regardless of whether or not they have kids. We are going to set the target date by December 31, 2035 to see who is correct, yes even if I turn out to be correct January 1, 2036 and owe each other trips based on who is correct. I owe my husband a paid for week long trip to Australia if he is correct and my husband agreed to pay for a week long trip to New Zealand if I'm correct. Regardless of who is correct, my husband and I mutually intend to ensure that our marriage lasts regardless of whether we would do a long distance marriage for the rest of our current lifetimes.

Welcome to Norfolk, VA.
Nor-fok, or Naw-fok, no matter how you pronounce it, the experience will always be the same: fun, vibrant entertainment and culture, delicious cuisine and 144 miles of shoreline waiting to be explored! With the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic ocean and countless rivers in our backyard, you are never far from the water; you can experience intense watersports, leisurely sails, or simply enjoy the view from your hotel room. Take a tour of the Elizabeth River harbor on a majestic tall ship, sip on some of the best wines around at Mermaid Winery, Virginia’s very first urban winery, or watch world-renowned artists blow glass at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio. If history is your thing, sign up for a boat or land tour of the world’s largest Naval Base, stop by the MacArthur Memorial, or walk theCannonball Trail.
Still looking for reasons to visit Norfolk? You can jam out to some of the nation’s best music at the NorVA, named “Venue that Rocks” the hardest by Rolling Stones magazine. There are antique shops, coffee houses & breweries galore in the hip, historic Ghent district just a few minutes from downtown. And Norfolk is friendly to our local environment with more than 45 registered LEED buildings as well as hotels, restaurants and attractions participating in the Virginia Green program. There is truly something for everyone here!
